Mantra Insects • Lynnfield Library

Learn about the muralist Mantra, who paints giant trompe l'oeil insect shadow boxes on the sides of buildings around the world. You'll view slides of his work and pictures of the Harry C. Belcher Lepidoptera (butterfly & moth) Collection that's housed at Tufts Library in Weymouth Massachusetts.

Using images of butterflies, moths and beetles as reference, draw and paint your own realistic or imaginative insects and mount it in a paper shadow box.

Ages 8-14. Registration recommended as space is limited. Walk-ins will be taken if space allows. Please fill out a separate registration for each child/teen who will be participating in the art project.
